I'm a happy RN married to a hardworking resident. We have recently become Carolina fans and are adding the color "carolina" blue to our wardrobe and home. I love the east coast and couldn't be happier living in hot, sticky climate. I was raised on a farm/ranch with two wonderful parents and three fun loving older sisters. I went to a one room country school house down the dusty dirt road with grand total of three in my class. Life in the country was rich, meaningful, and simple, just the way I like it. So from country farmgirl to coastal bell, here I am, living life and loving it!

Dying Easter Eggs

This is the first year we really got into dying eggs.  Last year Jonah was a bit too young. I always had good memories dying eggs with my sisters so I wanted to carry on the tradition with Jonah.  He really enjoyed it and did great!  Waiting for them to get the color took some patience but overall it was a fun experience.  And I'm glad Tim was home to help us out! Our last Easter in North Carolina, things are winding down:(

So excited to see the eggs changing color!!

 We wanted them bright!

We had to finish the eggs the next morning with stickers and decorations!

Just love that sweet face.  He gets so excited about things and I love it!

Baby Boy Shower

This post is a little old but I wanted to share some pictures from my baby shower which was back in March!!!  My dear friends Julie Joseph and Katie Mills hosted the shower along with Katie's mom.  As you know from my last post my mom, two sisters, and grandmother were all suppose to be there.  But do all the unfortunate events that happened to occur in the tiny span of one week only Jenny Lynn made it.  At least I had her there!  It was a fun time with so many people from different walks of life.  I am so blessed to have lived in such a great place with so many friends.  Saying goodbye is going to be sad and very hard.  But I'm thankful for the time I had with each and every one of them.  This little guy in the tummy has not had much attention on my blog lately.  I think I might have a lot going on right now.  Packing up my house, keeping up with an energetic 2.5 year old while being 38 weeks pregnant, trying to keep up with the cleaning and laundry and cooking, being home for all the repairs and replacements, cheering my husband on that he's almost done and we see light at the end of the tunnel!:) Yep it's been crazy but a fun ride with all of you!

I told the girls that I wanted something simple like a cookie bar so that is what they did!  Sugar cookies with every topping you could imagine. It turned out so cute!

The food was so yummy.  They did chicken wings, dip, chips, vegetables, cheese and crackers, and a few appetizers.  This pregnant mommy was quite delighted and full!

Thank you Katie for throwing the shower!!

We got a pictures of almost everyone that was there.  A few people had left by the time I realized I wanted a group photo!

And my dear friend Julie, thank you!!

Family Visit

My grandmother from Texas has been wanting to get out for a visit so she talked to mom to figure out some dates to come out.  It just so happened that my friends Katie and Julie offered to throw me a little baby shower for Baby #2 so I thought how fun it would be to have my mom, grandmother, Laura, and my sister from Montana (who decided to come visit as well) at my shower.  We got the dates all figured out and decided March 1st would be a great time to have it.  I was also hoping for some really nice weather for my mom and sister since they both live in Montana! Well plans we make are not always the way things are going to happen.  The day my family was suppose to get into town my sister Laura called me with some very sad news that her Father-In-Law had passed away and she and her husband were driving to be with the family.  My grandmother and mom were suppose to stay with me and my sister Jenny and her two boys, both under the age of 2, would stay with my sister.  And we would just make plans throughout the week to meet up and hangout.  Well it ended up they all ended up staying at Laura's house because it was easier to all be in one place, and someone needed to watch my sisters kids.  So I just drove back and forth everyday to be with them. A very long story short, my grandmother started feeling pretty sick on Thursday and by Saturday my mom took her to Urgent Care and they diagnosed her with pneumonia.  My shower happened to be on Saturday, but mom didn't feel like she could leave me grandmother so she stayed home with her and my sister Jenny was able to come with the neighbor to my shower.  It was just a crazy week taking care of 8 kids, my sick grandmother, and driving everyone around, getting groceries, cooking, entertaining.  It was not exactly how I would have guessed the week to go, but we managed and did end up having a great time together.  I have a few pictures of the one nice day my family got to enjoy.  The weather here has been crazy and we have been waiting a very long time for spring!  I think spring is here finally as this week is going to be in the eighties a couple of days!

We went to the tennis courts to let the kids run around get some energy out.  Mom got in a little game with Caleb and we all took turns hitting balls and running around having fun!

 My sweet Amelia girl!
Always a smiling!

Sweet Blake and Grant.

I'm so happy I was able to capture this sweet moment.  We obviously were missing a lot of the little ones, but this is still pretty sweet!

And we can't forget about this sweet little guy.  I had Tim take a quick picture so show my progress in the last weeks.  Can't wait to meet him!
