I'm a happy RN married to a hardworking resident. We have recently become Carolina fans and are adding the color "carolina" blue to our wardrobe and home. I love the east coast and couldn't be happier living in hot, sticky climate. I was raised on a farm/ranch with two wonderful parents and three fun loving older sisters. I went to a one room country school house down the dusty dirt road with grand total of three in my class. Life in the country was rich, meaningful, and simple, just the way I like it. So from country farmgirl to coastal bell, here I am, living life and loving it!

Sweet baby

Yesterday I had to go for another ultra sound to make sure the baby is growing and back on track.  At our 20 week ultrasound the baby was measuring small so they got concerned  did a huge work-up, and everything came back normal, Praise the Lord.  I was all settled in and enjoying the cute little kicks, lots of swallowing, and and a very snug baby inside.  It was all curled up with both hands covering it's face and wouldn't cooperate to get a good 3D view, but eventually we got some good shots.  After ultrasound tech was done he kinda started to give me bad news and told me the baby is still measuring small and showed me the graph at where and how they were charting the growth.  I freaked out, texted Tim it was bad and held in the tears while waiting for the doctor to come tell me the news all over again.  Thankfully the doctor came in quickly and explained to me that the baby is now growing at a small rate but a consistent rate which is a good thing.  It is still measuring small but he was so reassuring that things still seem to be going well.  The cord is getting good blood flow and the baby is being perfused well.  He also told me his son was below the wanted 10% range the entire pregnancy and turned out just fine.  So that being said I felt a little more comfortable and the tears started to reabsorb.  I composed myself and called Tim back since now I had him extremely worried and explained to him what the doctor told me.  We got some cute shots of the little one in there and I pray every night and everyday for the growth of our baby and that it would be heathy and strong.

So is this amazing or what?  I am so excited we are getting our ultrasounds done at Rex because our insurance in covering all these amazing 4D ultrasounds.  That is the sweet little one growing inside me. So cool to see.

This is the same picture as above but in the natural color.  Ah I am in love!!!!!

And this is what baby was doing the whole time.  Holding it's little arm over it's face trying to sleep and not be bothered.  I had to keep rolling from side to side because it was lodged so far down the tech couldn't get to the little bean!!

A little side shot from our 20 week ultrasound in October.  I just love seeing the little one.

On the Side

My dear friend Katie asked me to take some family pictures and some pictures of her sweet little girl Kaitlyn last week.  I of course said yes because I love taking pictures, but always get a little nervous about taking pictures of other people because I am so picky about my own.  Well the lighting was perfect the weather was great.  Here are a few pictures of the Mills.  And then we got to spend the day with the Mosley's and do our family pictures on Saturday in Duke Gardens.  It was such gorgeous day withe some great pictures and lots of laughs.  People keep telling me I should start doing photography on the side.  Oh I have a long way to go until that happens.  It's not my expertise but the great camera that does all the work.  I would like to continue to work on my photography skills though and just get better all around.  Take 50...

Miss Kaitlyn Mills!

A sneak peak at our family Christmas photos!

Here are the Mosleys.  There are some better ones of this picture, but I'm too lazy to go back and find it.  I liked how they were all lined up!

15 Months

Happy 15 Months to my sweet Jonah!  This post is just a couple of days late, but I took the pics on the day!  Jonah is such a joy and is growing up so fast.  He is saying a lot of words.  What he says now

Uh-Oh
Mamma
Dadda
Ball
Hot
Poop
Shoes
Tee Tee
Bye Bye
Hi
No (yikes just learned that one!)
and he signs thank you and will sometimes say it

He loves to be outside and climbs on everything.  Even if it seems like he might get some height on it, Jonah is climbing and hanging from something.  He is all boy which I love.  He plays with worms, dirt, leaves, and is learning that sticks are a lot of fun.  He started driving cars and trucks around a few weeks ago and was making the vrooom sound without me even showing him.  Smart one he is!  And if you give him a truck and starting driving it backwards he will immediately turn it around and drive it the right way you can barely tell on the truck but he knows!
I thank the Lord for a healthy, sweet, very active little 15 month old.  We love you Jonah!

Jonah likes to sit at the counter and work on "projects."  He is not totally into art project, but is getting more interested.  At one point he was panting in the candle!!

We love you!!

Playdate!!

My dear friend Julie and her little girl came over for a playdate on Friday while our husbands were in surgery together doing a double lung transplant.  Yep, just an ordinary day for them, working side by side in the OR at UNC, while we had a fun playdate, had lunch together, and watched our little betrothed children play together.

We tried and tried to get a picture of them sitting so cute and nicely together, but that did not happen as we had wanted it to.  They were both on the move loving the leaves!

Our last attempt at an ok shot of the besties together!!  Little ones it's not over yet your moms will be at it again!

Halloween Traditions

We did our wonderful tradition for Halloween and went to the Mosley's for Chili, Queso, and trick-or-treating.  It was a really pretty night out, kind of chilly but not too bad.  We ate dinner and then got the kids all dressed up in their costumes.  My sister lives in the best kid friendly neighborhood with a double culdesac so it's so fun and safe.  We took the kids around to a few homes and then Tim and I went back to Laura's with Jonah to get him warm and hand out candy while she and Kurt took the crew around.  Unfortunately Jonah missed him morning nap and did not take a good afternoon nap so he was happy until the group pictures and just wasn't in the mood to be messed with.  He did good for the most part and we all had a great evening together.

Here is Jonah hanging out with the big kids.  He loves to follow Joshua around and Joshua is so good and sweet to him!
Here is our sweet little chick all dressed up for Halloween.  This is when he was happy being left along to run around!

And the cute princess Amelia and princess Hannah. They were so cute and happy to be all dressed up.

On the run.  I tried to get the three of them, but Jonah was off in a flash ready for the next thing.

And the attempt to get all the cousins in one picture.  Jonah was not happy about that at all!

The last Halloween of our family of three!!
