Beach Trip

Mom came to visit in May, so the Mosley crew, mom, and I made a day trip to Kure Beach.  It was my first trip to the beach for the summer.  We had the little red wagon, chairs, trucks, sand castle building equipment, and a delicious picnic lunch!  It was a fun day and Laura and I got some great shots of the kids playing!

Baby Shower!!

So I finally sat down at the computer and updated my blog.  Yes, I know it has been since April, sad. But with working full time, summer finally here, and being 8 months pregnant it does not leave much time for blogging.  But in six weeks baby boy will be here and maybe I will have more time???  Anyway here are some pictures from the baby shower my sister Laura and dear friend Katie threw me!

So one of the games for the baby shower was to remember all 10 items hanging on this clothes line.  When everyone sat down before opening presents my sister handed out cards to write down the items. It was fun to see who was observant and who was not.  Some people got almost all of them and some people did not even know there was a clothes line with sweet little boy things hanging!!

Here is the cake.  This cake is a duplicate of what the baby invitations looked like.  Very cute idea Lar!

And over near the drinks were all these different blue candies. They were party favors for all the guests.

So we were not really sure at the beginning of the pregnancy if we were going to find out the sex.  I had in my mind what I wanted for the nursery and went to work right away finding fabrics and paint colors I thought would be a good for either a boy or a girl.  After looking around and having a blast planning I found these "Amy Butler" fabrics in the above picture.  I fell in love with the fabric and instantly knew what I wanted to do with the nursery.  And so my mom being the most excellent seamstress that she is made the quilt, diaper stacker, bumper, and curtains.  Thanks mom, I love it.  Nursery pictures coming soon!

Disney World and Babymoon

Our first exciting meal in Downtown Disney, Rain Forest Cafe!!

And our first day at Disney World.  We stayed at the Hilton which we got to partake in the extended hours of Disney.  We were up at 6:00 am, on the bus at 6:30, and at Disney by 7:00am!

Tim rode Splash Mountain by himself. I couldn't because I was pregnant.  It was fun to watch him come down and I got to take some good pictures of him!

I love the movie "Cars."  It was Better Homes and Gardens Festival of Flowers the week we were at Disney.  So all throughout Epcot there were characters made out of flowers.  It was so fun to see.  So I had to take a picture of "Mater!"

While Tim rode the Tower of Doom I went to see my all time favorite Disney Movie play "Beauty and the Beast."  It was great acting and wonderful music.  I might drag Tim to this next time we go!!

Siesta Key

Baby Bump!

The last few days of our baby-moon, we went down to Sarasota and stayed with Tim's grandparents.  It was so nice and relaxing and a good time to visit with them.  They are both always so sweet and welcoming!  So that was the last big trip before sweet  Baby Boy Erpelding is born.  We are so thankful as well because we celebrated our third anniversary.  And it has really been a wonderful three years.  We have enjoyed some fun times together and really have enjoyed life as a very happy married couple.  Happy Anniversary Tim, I love you!!

 

 

New York, New York

My girls and I for a fun filled weekend in New York.  We are standing in front of some buns. Yes buttocks.  Our fist stop Museum of Modern Art.  We were very amazed at the interesting bits of art, and well we laughed a lot.  Finally after exploring some very interesting things we finally found Monet and Van Gogh upstairs.  That was art we were looking for.

I believe this is St. Patrick's cathedral.  What a beautiful building.  There were so many details that were fascinating.

A little bit of shopping at H & M, and believe it or not no one bought anything.  But we did have some fun while in the store.

The beautiful city lights of New York.  It was overcast and rainy on Saturday so I captured some of the weather in this picture.

We are ate at this amazing French Restaurant in SoHo.  The girls all had fun drinks and don't worry I just had pineapple juice.  It was a $5 pineapple juice, but worth it.  

And of course a nice walk to Time Square.

We really had a great trip.  I went with four of my dear friends from work and some of my best friends since moving to North Carolina.  I am amazed at how many wonderful people I have met while living here.  And it is pretty cool that we all get along so well and work in the same place.  Anyway a great trip enjoyed by all.  Our next trip is going to either be the beach or lake.   So more pictures and fun to come!

Our 18 week ultrasound

And here are those pictures I promised.  Our tech told us that he was snug up again the placenta as you  can see in the first picture.  As she went on with the scan he started moving around a lot and waking up.  So this last picture is him closer up a little farther away from the placenta.  He was ready for a nap after the wonderful show he put on for us.  Here is sweet Baby Boy Erpelding!

It's A BOY!!!!

We had our ultrasound on Tuesday which confirmed we are having a precious little boy.  I can't even explain the feeling of joy and happiness when you see your baby up on the monitor and smile and think that God created that special baby boy.  Tim held my hand as the ultrasound tech moved the machine across my belly.  She explained everything she was looking at, reassured us that everything looked normal, and walked us through every picture and body part.  I smiled at Tim as we both guessed what the sex was.  It was very obvious and I was proud of myself that I could see it!  I could see a twinkle in his eye when yes the tech did confirm that indeed it was a boy.  There was a part of me that was so overwhelmed with joy that my sweet, hard working, loving husband was getting his first boy.  I'm still in awe and amazement that we created that little boy together and will continue to be, and look forward to the day when we get to hold that baby in our arms.  We have a disc with the pictures of the baby and I will load pictures tonight when I get home from work.  I just wanted to get the news out that, yes it is a baby boy!!! 

The Baby To Be

With the news of Baby E to be arriving August 12th, my blog has suffered tremendously.  I know I have said before that I am going to get better about blogging.  I keep promising to do better, but as you can see I have failed miserably, sad but true! But on a better note, WHO CARES!  We are going to have a baby!!  I have been wanting to blog about the baby and now is the time to start.
   Tim and I found out December 8th that we were going to be parents.  Wow what a happy day that was!!!  But lets go back a few days/weeks to share the full story.
    We started talking about starting a family late summer of last year.  We were back and forth as to if we were ready, were we financially stable, was it time?  We had had two wonderful years of marriage together and were all settled into life in North Carolina, but was it time?  With an agreement of starting to try in October it was decided.  Tim and I were going for it.  So that was that, October it was.
   We had the joy of going to Tim's cousins wedding the first weekend in November.  Meghan and Daniel were getting married November 6th so we took a long four day weekend to head down to Charleston and be a part of the big day.  All was well, good time with family, good food and drinks, and a beautiful wedding, but I was two days late... Really could this be it?  I told Tim and we both got so excited but then so nervous, what if I really was pregnant.  With our hopes up and spirits high I got my period two days late.  Bummer, this was not it.  But oh well we only tried once.  Lets wait for the next month.
  We decided to go to Western North Carolina with our friends Will and Emily, to Will's family cabin.  We packed our bags Friday morning (December 3rd) and headed out about 3:00 that afternoon for the long, fun, five hour drive.  Will and Emily provided us with walkie talkies which made the trip so much fun.  We are all in medicine, Will and Tim and doctors, and Emily and I the nurses, so we talked about funny patient stories, co-workers, close calls, and more.  We arrived at the cabin that evening in time to get a nice warm fire started and our bags unpacked.  The weekend was a fun one with hikes during the days, and trip to the Biltmore for their Christmas light display, and lots of games with hot chocolate by the fire.  Then it was back to work Monday morning.
  I woke up Monday morning telling my self to calm down.  Once again I was late, but this time I was four days late.  Telling myself not to get worked up, this just happened last month.  So I went about my business trying to ignore, but still thinking about it at all times.
   Tuesday morning rolls around and I'm five days late.  OK this is a big deal.  So that night after work I headed to Target, picked up some toilet paper, Christmas candy, and a pregnancy test.  I was going to take it.  Tim was late call, so he would not be getting home until 8:00 that night.   I headed up to my bathroom, peed on the stick, and immediately it was positive.  I calmly put the stick on the counter and then got in shower thinking the stick was not working, nope this is really not it.   Thirty minutes later I got out of the shower and the stick was bright blue with a large positive sign, it was really positive.  Now I needed a clever way to tell Tim we were expecting.  I finally came up with an idea to wrap the pregnancy stick up as a gift and give it to him that night.  So when he got home I told him I had gotten an early Christmas present for him that I wanted him to open it that night.  I gave him the pretty wrapped present with a huge smile on my face.  He was tired and not really into the whole gift thing at the moment so when he opened it he looked at me was was like "holy crap" and thew the present across the room.  We then laughed about the reaction and then I cried because he was so happy.  And that's how it all happened, and Baby E came to be...
